Smarty Plates Trivia Night - Fun, Laughter, and Generosity

Last Friday, the community came together for an unforgettable evening of wit, laughter, and a shared passion for supporting a noble cause at the Smarty Plates Trivia Night. Held in the amazing gathering space of High Country Beverage’s bar room, the event saw a turnout of nine fiercely competitive teams.

The teams, boasting creative monikers like “The Brainy Bunch”, “The Brain Drainers”, “More Brains than Brawn”, and the humorously mistaken “I Thought This Was Speed Dating”, vied for top honors, prizes, and, of course, bragging rights. The competition was fierce, with rounds covering “Nutritional Know-How”, “Culinary Geography”, a nostalgic music round from 1968 (the year MOWLB was born), and other brain-teasing categories. The Brainy Bunch claimed victory, with the team “The Stoop Kids” not far behind in second place.

But, the true winner of the night was the sense of community and generosity that shone through the entire event. Thanks to the creativity and enthusiasm of all the participants, and the special contributions of our title sponsor, MainStreet Car Care and Quick Lube, we are thrilled to announce that the event raised over $2500! These funds will directly support the vital programs and services provided by Meals on Wheels, ensuring nutritional security, socialization, and home safety for homebound and aging adults in our community.

A special shoutout goes to the team “More Brains than Brawn” who won the Team Spirit award - a testament to the creativity and enthusiasm that made this event so fun! (A hot pink suit and a Barbie cake helped secure this win!)
