Meals on Wheels and Bank of Colorado - a Successful Community Partnership
This year, the concept of “community” was more than just a buzzword at our Meals on 4th event. It was on display - through the extensive list of restaurant partners and sponsors, in the stories that were shared, and on all of the smiling faces in attendance.
Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud is grateful for the support and partnership of all of our donors and sponsors. One longtime partnership that has grown over the years is the bond with the Bank of Colorado in Loveland.
Bank of Colorado has been a Meals on 4th Sponsor since the conception of the event back in 2018. Every year, Bank of Colorado provides a team of dedicated volunteers to help lead the check-in process, and manage all monetary transactions at the event. Their volunteers sit on the event planning committee, helping with event logistics and providing feedback during and after the event. Their involvement provides a strong peace of mind not only to the entire event planning committee but to our Meals on Wheels organizational leadership as well.
Bank of Colorado - an important Meals on 4th Sponsor
Bank of Colorado’s involvement with Meals on Wheels dates back to a ribbon-cutting ceremony that was held for the Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud’s 50th Anniversary in 2018.
Tasha Hageman, a Bank of Colorado representative, won a door prize at the event that included a route ride-along with MOW Executive Director, Jeffrey Pomranka. She participated in the ride-along and was impressed with how the organization operated - from food prep to food delivery to all of the extra services they provided for the community’s homebound neighbors. She was also impressed with the number of volunteers who dedicated their time to providing care and nutritious meals to those in need. This experience made her realize how important the Meals on Wheels services are to the greater community. It was an eye-opening and life-changing experience, that inspired her to get Bank of Colorado involved as a sponsor at the very first Meals on 4th event.
As an inaugural Meals on 4th Sponsor, Bank of Colorado has exemplified the concept of community through their involvement. One commented, “My favorite Meals on 4th moments are looking down the entire block of 4th Street and seeing a sea of humans, sitting family-style, and giving generously to the Meals on Wheels organization. It’s also great seeing so many individuals and business owners volunteering at this event, taking such pride in giving back to our community members.”
Bank of Colorado - supporting Meals on Wheels all year long
Bank of Colorado doesn’t just support the Meals on 4th event, they also generously donate to the yearly Santa Project for Meals on Wheels clients. Tracy Hogue, a Bank of Colorado representative shared her Meals on Wheels Mission Moment. She has a strong affinity for the Santa Project Program.
“My Meals on Wheels Mission Moment was sharing information with my family about the Santa Project. Before I could even ask if they would like to donate and participate, they asked for gift tags from our Santa Project tree and for any personal gift requests. There was no hesitation in wanting to provide a gift that in some cases might be the only gift a homebound older adult would receive over the holidays.”
Partners ensuring our neighbors live with independence and dignity
Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud is beyond grateful for the community partnership with Bank of Colorado. Because of their dedication and support, more older adults and homebound neighbors receive the nutritious meals and daily social connections that are vital in ensuring a life of independence and dignity. Their support goes beyond the walls of Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud. It is seen and felt throughout the greater community.
Thank you, Bank of Colorado for supporting Meals on 4th and our Meals on Wheels organization throughout the year!
